I’ll be honest, I haven’t tuned into the Olympics much this winter. But when I’ve gone out of my way to watch, it’s been the U.S. hockey teams. After staying up all night to watch Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk tear the men’s team a new one I started to watch women’s team. They’re a likeable group and they play an entertaining style of hockey. The gold medal game was fairly even until OT. They had the puck the whole time, hit the post once and outshot the Canadian’s by a lot. The only time Canada looked like an Olympic team was when they were on the power play. The last goal of the shootout was one of the best I’ve ever seen, TJ Oshie would’ve been proud. Congrats to the U.S. women’s team on an incredible run and their first gold medal since 1998.
