The wait is finally over, I finally decided to do something productive today instead of lifting weights, and eating food. So in further notice LETS RIDE! Monday, the worst day of the week, the dreadful Monday is almost over. With Monday coming to an end this calls for the fun part of the week. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TUESDAYS! Tomorrow we have 2 great match-ups in the round of 16. First, we have Manchester United vs Sevilla at historic Old Trafford, in Manchester. Across the board, we have Roma taking on Shakthar Donetsk at The Stadio Olimpico, in Rome. Being a fan of the Premier League, I will be shifting my attention to the Manchester United vs Sevilla match.
The match up between Manchester United vs Sevilla has to be my favorite match on Tuesday by far. What more could you ask for this game, two great competitors, a historic venue, and most importantly the winner advances to the next round of the Champions League. Sevilla travels to Old Trafford in Manchester for the second leg, which will be played at 7:45 PM in England, and 2:45 pm in the United States. Sevilla is coming into this match up already on a dry streak, losing two of the four games they played since the last matchup with Man U. Sevilla also lost their last game to Valencia 2-0, just under a week ago. Since the game is away for Sevilla, and they also tied The Red Devils 0-0 in the first leg, the aggregate is 0-0, which will help Sevilla since an away goal is worth more than home goal. After the performance that Sevilla put on during the first leg, they know the monster they are going up against on the pitch at Old Trafford Tuesday night. Sevilla head coach Vincenzo Montella came out Monday saying ” I am as I was in the first leg, because United have a strong physical and technical level in which they play with”. With a win Tuesday Sevilla advances to their first ever Champions League quarter-final.
On the other hand, Manchester United is coming into this game red hot winning their last three matches since the first leg against Sevilla. These wins include two against top Premier League contenders Chelsea, and Liverpool, also an impressive 3 goal comeback against Crystal Palace. With the 3 impressive wins since the first leg, Manchester United is coming into this game confident and strong. Especially since they took down the second seed in the Premier League Liverpool last Saturday. Another plus for Man United is that they get to play in front of their home crowd at Old Trafford, which is known for having one of the most rowdy, and respected fan bases in all of Football. Tuesday night should be a good one.
- Romelu Lukaku
- Alexis Sanchez
- David de Gea
- Sergio Rico
- Steven N’Zonzi
- Ever Banega
With this match being at “The Theatre of Dreams” Old Trafford stadium, and Manchester United being completely on fire the past three matches, it would be crazy for me not to pick them to win tomorrow. I mean come on people a 3 goal comeback to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 last Monday, and then 5 days later taking down Liverpool (who seemed to be unstoppable) 2-1. Manchester United plays on a whole new level tomorrow. Sparks fly. David de Gea earns a clean sheet. Manchester United earns a spot in the quarter finals.
3-0 Manchester United.
The Don has spoken.
