Braves vs Reds o9.5 (+100)
These teams put some serious runs on the board in the first two games of this series. There are two pitchers that don’t have a lot of familiarity with the opposing lineup, which could be an advantage to the hitters. Brandon Finnegan, the Reds pitcher has had two less than great starts this season and Matt Wisler has had one pretty solid start. Wisler has had one start at Great American Ballpark and allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings of work. The wind is blowing out and the forecast for the game is cloudy and 55. I think this is a little improvement on the regular weather in Cincinnati, so let’s see if the Big Red Machine and the Peach Clobbers can put some wood on the ball to score some runs.
Padres (+145) vs Rockies
This is a value play for me. Jon Gray has had two starts against San Diego and pitched not so great when he toed the rubber at home against the Friars. Gray gave up 7 runs on 10 hits along with 2 longballs. Tyson Ross has pitched pretty well this season, and will look to continue his good start. I’ll be watching this one pretty closely due to the fact that there was a huge brawl the last time these teams played at Coors Field. I’ll be interested to see how this one plays out, but I think the Padres have Jon Gray’s number and should be able to get a comfortable lead for Tyson Ross and their bullpen.
