Orioles vs Red Sox -160
The Red Sox usually take care of teams that aren’t good and this applies here with their matchup with the Orioles. David Price is on the mound for the Red Sox tonight against Kevin Gausman for the O’s. Price has faced a lot of criticism from the Boston media, but I think he’ll silence his critics tonight and pitch a great ballgame against a lineup that struggles to get runs. Price has had problems against Manny Machado in his career, giving up four longballs to the young shortstop. If Price is able to keep the guys in front of Machado off base, I’m not worried about this matchup at all. Solo home runs or singles and doubles aren’t going to win the O’s the game against a potent offense like what the Bo Sox have. Speaking of a potent offense, Boston has been held to under 3 runs just 4 times in their past 24 games, which could put the over in play here. Boston’s bullpen has been shaky so far this year, but pretty good against bad teams. The Red Sox are coming off a win against the A’s that helped them save the series with them, and I think they’ll put the A’s away early and cruise to a victory.
Rangers-White Sox o9 -105
Hamels and Shields are on the mound tonight for these two teams. Nothing against these guys, but they both can get lit up pretty easily. Both of the bullpens can give up some runs too. The forecast looks clear in Chicago tonight and Guaranteed Rate Field is a hitters ballpark. I’m guessing there’s going to be a lot of long balls courtesy of Joey Gallo, Jose Abreu and Avisail Garcia, so the over here is a pretty good pick.
